Stressed Out Water Oak
View Album
This 45 year old Water Oak canopy was as wide as the tree itself was tall - 60ft wide and 60ft tall. It had multiple leads from the base. The tree had never been pruned and was unsafe for the hurricaine season. The canopy was full and with the multiple leads over the years water would get into the multiple-lead trunk and freeze. This you can see by the stress marks on the trunk. This is an indication of internal rotting of the tree taking place. The leads were hanging over service lines, power lines and houses. Safety for property and lives comes before a beautiful tree.

'200' Year-old Oak Tree
View Album
This family built their home around this beautiful old Oak tree, over 200 years old.  They were very careful not to disturb its roots or damage it in any way; however, no matter what they did to take care of it, it was dying rapidly.  It was over 95 ft. high and measured 6 ft. in diameter.  We took this tree down the day before Hurricane Ivan arrived here, just in time.

Very Old Cherry Tree
View Album
This is the oldest Cherry tree in Huntsville, over 247 years old, at the home of Joe Dwyer, who is a Vietnam veteran. This tree is over 80 ft. tall and measures 4 ft. 7 in. in diameter.  Joe has taken care of this tree for his mother for the past 30 years and has spent over $25,000 with various tree companies trying to keep it healthy and alive.   He finally decided to have us take it down before it blew over from the remnants of these hurricanes that are hitting Florida this year

Roof Damaged By Tree
View Album
The roof on this house was damaged by a healthy Sweet Gum tree over 100 ft. high which was
blown over by the strong winds as a result of Hurricane Ivan.  This happened because it was
top-heavy due to no crown reduction.  Crowning and pruning your trees should be done in the Spring and Fall months.  When it comes to taking care of the outside of your home, tree care is just as important as painting your house or mowing your lawn.

Tree Pruning Jobs
View Album
Pruning is the most common tree maintenance procedure. Although forest trees grow quite well with only nature's pruning, landscape trees require a higher level of care to maintain their safety and aesthetics. Pruning should be done with an understanding of how the tree responds to each cut. Improper pruning can cause damage that will last for the life of the tree, or worse, shorten the tree's life. These pictures are pruning jobs that we have done.
